The problem with much of your approach is it ignores the reality that in
most jurisdictions providing alcohol to persons under 21 is a crime. Not
just against the law, but a crime. While I will agree with you that as
crimes go it is a relatively minor one in the scenarios you draw. However,
putting aside for a moment the impact of this fact on civil liability,
consider the potential impact on seeking the first post college job &tc
&tc.

In Ohio for example, if memory serves me since my reference books are at my
office, the penalty is up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1000.
 Provide is very broadly defined.  I cited the specific language and code
section in an earlier message.
