From the story of the founding:
My purpose was to make Alpha Phi Omega an organization for college men
(and dont get going on the term men there... =)
I think that the national alumni organization needs to get going and
provide for the alumni. I don't quite understand why alumni representatives
have a vote at all, but I've accepted it as axiomatic that they do. I do
feel, and have for a long time, that as APO is the college extension of the
Scouting ideals, so too should there be an adult form. Be that an
Alumni org actually capable of doing things or something else (pesonally
I like the latter, because it is more inclusive to those who didn't have
a chapter at their college, or who just didnt go to college)
