I have monitored the current issue and feel it is important to voice my
$.02 I strongly believe that Alum should be given a voice in our organization.
They have been in the world longer than us and they have wisdom which should
be recognized (at least in theory). I do believe that the active brothers
should have the strongest voice for it is they that the alum pass the torch.
We should always remember and honor our roots, for it is our heritage. We
cannot see how far we have come unless we know where we've been. (I know it
sounds soppy, but I mean it). Not only is it wise to give our alumi brothers
a voice, but it is very important that we listen to whatever counsel they may
have to give. Someday you will be that alum that everyone looks to for guidence
and I am sure you want the active brothers to honor you in the same way.
