Brothers,
First, for those who remember, last October I sent a request to the list
for information on the SAA position. As you'll note by my signature,
the SAA has been formally defined at GA, and I now officially hold the
post. I would like to thank everyone again for their contributions.
Now onto my next big project: I have just received clearance from my
Chapter President to begin working on chartering an Explorer post for my
chapter. (That is, _after_ I deal with the entire election process for
the next two weeks. :-) I want to see what experience, if any, other
chapters have with their own Explorer post.
Now, BEFORE you email me with details on chartering, working with BSA,
etc., please note that I'm _very_ experienced with my Council, so that
is NOT the problem. (I'm an OA Lodge Vice Chief, District Committee
member, Assistant Scoutmaster, and council Jewish Committee on Scouting
vice chair. Really, 4 hours a week ain't that bad ;-).
What I am looking for is what you use your post for, like sponsoring
Packs and Troops, or helping with Council events and projects, having
the wonderful BSA insurance (no kidding!), or whatever else. Also, I'm
interested in how you structure your post relative to your chapter
(who's the Post President, VPs, Secretary, Treasurer, Post Advisors,
Post Committee Chair and members, and the Chartered Organization Rep).
If you prefer, you can respond to me privately. I will be sure to
summarize the results once the thread dies down. Thanks so much!
