As a member of both Gamma Sigma SIgma (Drexel) and Alpha Phi Omega (alumni
of two schools), your idea has merit but I disagree with your conclusion.
The point is not that women at schools without APO have no opportunities
to do service....there are always opportunities for service projects...
i is the opportunity to do projects as a member of Alpha Phi Omega.

Your motion would have little effect on the current status of these
schools. Most if not all can say that there is a service organization or
local service sorority on their schools already.

I would rather see a proposal that allows females at all-male chapter
schools to be able to get extension membership at the nearest co-ed
chapter than a proposal that forces APO chapters to start other
organizations.

Personally, I would have never chosen to join GSS to do service but
I didn't feel like bringing Circle K to Drexel and the APO chapter here is
all-male. APO is a much stronger and broader organization than Gamma Sig.
GSS has around 48 active chapters....APO has over 350. At the national
convention for GSS this summer in Houston, there were 230 delegates...a
majority of those being alumni rather than actives.

I don't mean this as a negative towards GSS although some of you might
read it as such. It is a great organization but it does have limitations.
On several campuses, GSS acts like a sorority or a BGO (black greek
organization).
