I was wondering what restrictions (if any) do other chapters place on
matching Bigs and Littles. Is there any OFFICIAL policy within the chapter?
Is there a policy concerning those in "positions of power"? Are the
pledgemasters and/or big little chairs allowed to have littles?
Let me explain why I am asking this. Recently, Bigs and Littles were
matched in my chapter. Twenty-three people were applying to be one of 20 Bigs
so three brothers would not get a little. One of the pledgemasters, the
Membership VP, and both Big/Little Co-Chairs gots littles. The three people
who did not get a little did not match with anyone's personality nor were they
requested. Also, two of the three will be graduating and one is a grad
student who may not be staying.
Looking back on this now, I would do some restricting. I am the
Membership VP of the chapter. In the past, pledgemasters have not had littles
in our chapter with one exception that I know of. The current pledgemaster
that this concerns has not had a little yet. Big/Little Chairs and Membership
VPs of this chapter in the past have had littles.
That is the situation, a bit simplified. I want to know what people
think. Please send or post your opinions. You don't have to beat around the
bush either. Let me know what you think.
