The pledges make their choices toward the end of the quarter (which is
near the end of the pledging period). By then, they have gotten pretty
well acquainted with most of the brothers. We require the pledges to
interview 90% of the brotherhood during their pledging, thus allowing them
to get to know most of the brothers. Our chapter is also still fairly
small (25-30 active now, which is high for us), so there aren't all that
many brothers to get to know. I guess with 100 or so brothers, this could
be much more difficult, and it would also be hard for the pledges to
interview so many brothers.
