This is the basic text that went out to California University of Pennsylvania's
Office of Public Relations.
For Immediate Release:
On February 16, 1998, Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at
California University of Pennsylvania officially became a chartered Explorer
Post of the Boy Scouts of America, Greater Pittsburgh Council. The Boy Scouts'
Mon Valley District Executive, John McDonald, presented the charter for
Explorer Post 1421 to Jeffrey S. Brown, a grad student at California University
and Post 1421's Charter Representative.
As an Explorer Post, Alpha Phi Omega will be able to utilize the
principles, structure, and resources of the Boy Scouts of America in their
service program. Their Exploring emphasis will be primarily on career
awareness, introducing young people to college, and community/personal service.
