Hello all,

a letter from Wilfred Krenek our National President in regards to public

Brothers,
It is a fact that the Fraternity is immersed in cyberspace and the Internet.
Web sites are no longer static or boring displays. They are interactive
entertainment centers that give users the ability to link with other Web
sites, view photos and other graphics, leave messages or just make comments in
general.
As one would expect, these many and varied Web sites are quickly identified
with Alpha Phi Omega through the use of the Fraternity crest, pin emblem,
Greek letters and name. So as not to repeat the list throughout this letter,
let's call these and other obvious APO symbols our "identifiers."
Just as Active Chapters have the right and privilege to use or wear our
"identifiers" on their respective campuses for Chapter recognition, Active
Chapters have the same rights of identification and use of "identifiers" on
the Internet.
In your exuberance to display pride for the Fraternity on your Web site, I
would just ask that you use a little restraint and a lot of discretion in
reflecting or showing our "identifiers" with items or messages that would
generally be considered inappropriate. Unlike a personal interaction, what is
displayed on the Web stands alone, and is assumed to be a fair representation
of the entity it portrays. If that representation is contrary to the
principles or purpose of the Fraternity, then the image must be corrected.
Consider your Web site in light of my comments above. Have others review the
appropriateness of the image your Web site is giving the Fraternity. Maybe a
change is appropriate. Thanks for taking time to read this message.
Fraternally,
Wilfred M. Krenek
National President
