Sure thing :) I'm going to respond in various parts so that if people
want, they don't have to spend days at a time downloading 1 email message
:) Here's part A.
>1. What section are you in?
Section 92
>2. What chapter are you in?
Zeta Theta
>3. Active/Alum/Staff?
Active
>4. How many in-section conferences have you attended?
2
>5. How many out-of-section conferences have you attended?
2...They were both joint section conferences :) hehe
>6. Are sectionals held: fall/spring? fall only? Spring only?
Spring only
>7. If only once a year, why?
If I knew, I'd tell you...If I told you I'd have to kill ya...If I killed
ya, and there were witnesses, there would be Men in Black suits visiting
them :)
>8. Do external events at colleges affect the choice for sectionals. For
>example- Parent's Weekend? Football games? March Madness? etc.
Well, somewhat, but not as much as the question seems to imply...Like, when
scheduling for the next 91/92 conference, outside events were considered,
but only as far as breaks and fraternity events pretty much...but then, I'm
by far, no expert on the issue :)
>9. Do external events outside of college affect the choice for sectionals?
>(i.e. Final Four, World Series, etc.)
diddo
>10. Would you go to sectionals if it fell on a break (e.g, spring break?)
Heck, yeah!! If I'm not in classes, A Phi O isn't just a School
thing...It's a lifelong thing...In my opiniong(and please don't get into
any arguments over this), but I think that if you won't go to an A Phi O
function(in-chapter or out-of-chapter) when classes aren't in session, what
makes you think you'll continue with A Phi O after graduation?
>11. Would you go to sectionals if it fell on a holiday? (e.g. Easter,
Passover?)
Well, if the actual event fell on the day of Easter Day or Christmas Day, I
might think twice or three times, unless it was like a service project at
like a soup kitchen or something like that...but if it's like a regular
Conference...I probably wouldn't be around on THE DAY OF a holiday, but
before, after, up to, and immediately after I'd be perfect game :)
>12. Are sectionals normally held Fri-Sun, Sat-Sun, Sat only, etc.?
Well, this year it was Fri-Sat, but there's nothing stopping it from being
any of the three choices that you offered, or even an entire week event. :-)
>13. Do sectionals have a formal portion (e.g. banquet)?
Sometimes, more "Yes" than "No"
>14. If they do, have they always?
I dunno...I've only been around A Phi O for a little less than 2 years :(
>15. If not, were there ever banquets associated with your section's conf.?
I'm afraid I do not comprehend the nature of the question...In other words,
HUH?!?!?
>16. If they do, would you like to see a nonformal sectionals?
Well, this year's Sect. 92 Conference didn't have that formal of attire
required...I think I liked it better that way, because I didn't have to
change midway through the event.
>17. If they don't, would you like to see a formal portion of sectionals?
nope...for the same reason as my answer to #16 :)
>18. How much does sectionals cost on average, not counting T-shirt, etc.?
$12-$20...more often the lesser amount than the higher amount
>19. Has the decision to attend sectionals ever hinge on cost? For you? For
>others in your chapter? Section?
For me? a little, but that didn't hurt the decision making process. It was
such a low cost I'd go :)
For others? Yeah, but I kinda see why...I'd spend my last $0.02 on APO if
necessary...What else can you spend $0.02 on with a better purpose?
Section? I dunno...Sorry :(
>20. Is your section's chapters all represented at the conferences usually?
not all, but mostly...Usually there are a few chapters that aren't there,
but that's minimal. :)
>21. If not, which chapters don't and why not?
Well, usually the chapters that are out of the way. This Year's conference
was at Villanova U. and it was attended by mostly chapters in the area.
The chapters that weren't there did so because either they were out of the
area, or whatever reason they might supply...I don't know cuz I'm not them :)
>22. How many chapters are in your section?
10 Active Chapters, 1 P.G., 1 I.G., and 1 suspended chapter
>23. Back to the actual conference- is there housing provided on campus
usually?
There were hotels/motels available...as for housing on campus, I'm not sure
if there were or not. :)
>24. Do you stay on campus or in hotel?
I stayed in my own bedroom and then went back to my own school after the
conference....N/A
>25. Would the choice of accomodations hinge your decision to attend?
probably not whether to attend or not, but moreso whether to attend the
entire event or just a part of it.
>26. At the conference: are there usually service projects?
Yes...If not, I'd be dissappointed. :)
>27. Which have been your favorite?
Making T-shirts, making bagged lunches, the creative ones...cause I'm just
a creative type of person :)
>28. Are there seminars?
Yup!
>29. Which have been your favorite?
Well, I prefer to go to the Ice breakers and the Membership improvement
workshops/seminars...That might though have something to do with my
position for the Spring/Summer...I'm Membership V.P. :)
>30. Are there icebreaking parties/events?
Yup!
>31. Which have been your favorite?
Going around and finding people with things in common with you to sign a sheet
>32. Are there "roll calls" or other chapter presentations/contests?
not in the past 2 years, nope
>33. Which have been your favorite?
N/A.
