Hello, everyone!
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Alpha
Beta Gamma chapter and the Section 48 Conference Co-Chairs, Liz Harden
and Amy Schardein, for hosting the largest and best-attended conference
our Section has had in at least the last decade! We had a record 217
brothers in attendance, representing all 15 of our own chapters as well
as 5 out-of-Section chapters (Alpha Gamma, Beta Epsilon, Epsilon Mu,
Zeta Epsilon, and Tau Lambda). Thank you all very much!
Congratulations to the new Section 48 Chair, Dave Goode
(dpgoode@aol.com). I know the Section is in very capable hands because
Dave demonstrates the necessary enthusiasm, knowledge, compassion, and
energy in all that he does for Alpha Phi Omega, particularly in Section
48.
Congratulations to Eta chapter, which will host the Spring 1999 Section
48 Conference.
Congratulations to Eta Sigma and Alpha Alpha Eta chapters, which will
co-host the 1999 Section 48 Service Project.
Congratulations to the 1998 Section 48 Distinguished Service Key
recipient, Christopher Perillo of Theta Epsilon.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients. I do not have the
complete list with me right now, so rather than try to do this from
memory, I will send a second message later. :)
On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone who supported me
during my 2-year stint as the Section 48 Chair. The experience has not
only deepened my knowledge of the fraternity and the chapters I've
worked with, but it has also helped me grow and develop new skills. It
has been my privilege to serve Alpha Phi Omega (in particular, the 15
active chapters in northern and southeastern Illinois) in this capacity,
and--now that I have some free time :)--I am looking forward to tackling
greater challenges in the fraternity.
In Leadership, Friendship, and Service,
Natalie Ferber
Immediate Past Section 48 Chair
Still "Doin' Great in 48!"
