Brothers--
I'm glad to see that not everyone out there is hell-bent on
"modernising" the Fraternity. "Politically correct" has, in my opinion,
become a catch phrase for changing in order to please everyone. Ladies
and gentlemen, quite frankly this just ain't possible in an organisation
of our size. I don't really see what is wrong with the status quo.
I have spoken to MANY female Brothers who DO NOT MIND the gender
specificity of the toast song. After all, they are referred to as
Brothers in a Fraternity, and that to me should say something. I guess
what I'm really trying to say, is that I will obide by whatever is
decided by the national convention in regards to all-male chapters, even
if I don;t particularly like the outcome. However, speaking for our
chapter's delegates, we will fight tooth and nail against any such
legislation (legally and parlaimentarilly correct, of course! :))
I hope that I haven't managed to upset anyone, as that was not my
original intention. I simply wanted everyone to know that it is OKAY NOT
to be PC. Thanks!
Dave
