To add to the APO vs. GSS discussion:
I cannot say whether or not there are any internal weaknesses within the
Gamma Sig system, but I do think that APO is much better known than they
are. For that reason (at least here at Ship), many females come to us
(since there are co-ed chapters) and we refer them to Gamma Sig. I'm not
saying that they do not get pledges by themselves, they do. I am saying
that in my opinion, I think that APO better known and for the typical
freshman they are going the go to the group they have heard of and if our
chapter was co-ed, I suspect they would come to us. That would lead to a
decrease in the membership of GSS.
This is just my theory and opinion.....
