I too would be very interested in knowing when subjective standards were
outlawed and objective ones only allowed to remain.
As I posted, my chapter had a situation involving that subject, so I'm tres
curious.
What I understand so far is that what is required is an explicit statement
of qualifications to be admitted, but that that can invovle both obj. and
subjective standards. Is this correct?
That is, if we have a sheet saying a pledge has to do 30 hours of service,
10 hours of fellowship, pay dues, and that's it, that is ok, so long as we
follow it. What if we add a statement that in addition the pledge must
get a majority vote of all active Brothers, and that they can vote however
they want for any reason? Does that invalidate the "pledge standards"?
Thanks for any and all responses!
