Greetings fellow Brothers,
As a new subscriber to the APO-L mailing list, I thought it appropriate to
introduce myself. As you can see from my .sig, I'm Kari Vanalstine. I am
currently a SENIOR at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. I pledged APO in
Fall 1992 (for those fellow pledges of that semester...Go Papa Joe!!).
Anyways, since that semester I have served as co-editor of Beta Sigma's weekly
newsletter The Beta Sigma Weekly (more appropriately BSW) (SP93), Historian
(Fall93), and the ever new position to Beta Sigma Internal Secretary (Sp 94).
This semester I decided to take a break and join the Nationals Committee since
the Texas chapters have so graciously decided to prepare Nationals.
Beta Sigma is preparing a Casino Night (once again) and would like to extend
the invitation to all coming to Nationals to come have a ball!!! I thought
this would be an easy task, but we have discovered that our funds are running
quite short (we were only allocated $300 for this event). We NEED IDEAS for
fundraising projects that can be done in the coolness of October and November.
Any and ALL ideas are welcome.
SECTION 40 and other TEXAS Chapters: ( I say this cause it's easier for Texans
to get together to do projects on one weekend)...We are looking for a mixed
Chapter project before Nationals. If you have contact with your Service Vice
President...have them call Kristi White (BS..Service VP @ (806)742-1019...
that's our office and they will give you her number at home).
Hope to see everyone bright eyed and bushytailed at Nationals. Again if you
have any ideas about fundraising projects (make money fast) let me know...I'm
also on the Fundraising Committee...
Oh Yea...welcome all new inductees to the Beta Sigma Pledge class...We got 67
people to join us...that's about as big as the "Herbies" (fall 94) and we got
the National Vice Pres (Wilfred Krenek (sp)) to come speak at our banquet and
party with us afterward...Remember to keep your promise KAY HARGROVE!!!
