Brothers of Alpha Phi Omega,
It is time to clean the air in regard to my previous letter about
brothers dating pledges. When I stated that brothers would be suspended for
braking the rule, I should have been more clear. An unwritten rule has been in
existence since last year. Though the executive committee will state that it
is not in the bi-laws or the minutes, it is still in existence. There ARE
such things as unwritten rules. Where is it written that a brother is to
wear their letters? It is just done that way. Well anyways, Two weeks ago
our chapter voted to make the dating, and actual written rule. Discussion
on punishment is still unresolved. However, the unwritten rule about the suspe
nsion was never disolved. I have personally witnessed brothers date pledges
and have seen no punishment handed down to that brother. The fact is, that rul
e is still in existence.
