Dear David and all others,

I am posting this because there seems to be a lot of confusion on
the issue of the proposed amendments concerning the removal of all
references of the Boy Scouts of America from Alpha Phi Omega's
National Bylaws. It is my understanding (although I do not have my
copy of the proposed amendments here) that these amendments were
proposed due to an official request from the BSA, who wish to officially
sever their current ties to Alpha Phi Omega. If I am not mistaken, the
packet of proposed amendments our chapter received two days ago from the
National Office is organized so that each amendment is followed by a
"rational" type statement which explains the exact intent of each
proposed amendment. The proposed amendments on the BSA references
are followed by some form of explaination stating that these changes
are requested by the BSA.

I am also upset about this, because even though I was not a scout
myself (obviously!), I am proud of our connection to the BSA. But if
this is what THEY want, I'm not sure that we have much of a choice in
the matter! Oh, well!

With Brotherly Love,
