Hello out there,
Who was the better baseball player for his team and the most beloved of
all time -- the Kansas City Royals' George Brett or New
York/California/Houston/Texas pitcher Nolan Ryan?

We will have a chance to find out -- even if it is in an unscientific
way -- as signed baseballs by Ryan and Brett will be up for bid at the
National Convention's silent auction. The one who raises the most money will
be considered the gre-e-e-atest of all ti-i-i-i-me.

We also have commitments for a baseball signed by Boston pitcher Roger
Clemens, Minnesota second baseman Chuck Knoblauch and ""something from the
Kansas City Chiefs.'' (No, I don't know what the something is, the women in
charge of community relations -- whose sister was in APO at Penn State --
said only that we would recieve something from the Chiefs -- who were named
after H. Roe "The Chief'' Bartle.

We also have in hand a 12th Man replica football jersey from Texas A&M
University, and commitments for jerseys from the University of Texas and
Baylor.

Also included in the auction will be items from National Board members,
who of course, are more beloved than Ryan and Brett put together.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the Texas AIDS Foundation.

Saves your dimes and dollars for what could be the bargain of the year
in collectables and signature baseballs.
