Hello everyone! After reading some of the posts on the BSA issue, I thought
I would make a short response. As Brother Schroeder has stated, the amendments
he has proposed are not intended to cut our link with the BSA. They are to
clear up the confusion some of the public has about us. I have personally
come across people that believe that we only accept scouts. This kind of
thing needs to be cleared up. Also, I would like to say that I am glad that
Jerry took the initiative and proposed these amendments. Sometimes it is
necessary for the President of an organization to promote changes in the
group. I realize this is a much smaller scale, but as chapter president
I have suggested several policies this semester that have helped, but may not
have been brought up otherwise. Lastly, I hope that people can come to the
convention and logically listen to the arguments presented concerning these
amebdments. This is a very important issue that needs great care applied to
it.
Now to brag a little bit, we just finished working a Haunted house that
is put on by the local Jaycees group. It was highly successful and a lot of fun
If anyone has any suggestions for an idea for roll call, PLEASE send them to me.
We are in dire need of some as we don't wish to embarrase(sp?) ourselves again.

In LFS,
Shawn Putnam
President, Iota Mu chapter

P.S. Thanks to the Eagle Scouts for the grammar lesson with the 'am' and 'was'
issue. It WAS very informative and I AM very grateful.
