At Epsilon Delta at CCSU, we have a do things a little differntly. Our
elections, which are at the end of each semester, (except for treasurer which is
a one year ofice) are as follows: First nominations are made for every office
applicable. This is done during New Business, and recorded in the minutes. WE
then wait a week to allow the nominees to prepare for the elections. It also
allows last minute nominees. At the next regularly scheduled meeting we allow
the candidates for President, Service VP, and Membership VP to give a speech if
they are running against somebody. It is usually the case that all other
positions needn't give speech's but we allow them if they insist. After all of
the candidates for a position have spoken, the chapter votes by secret ballet,
and announces the results.
