**1. GENERAL INFORMATION

**2. HOTEL INFORMATION

Rooms:
1,400 guest rooms, including 49 suites. Some rooms equipped with physically
impaired facilities including wheelchair access and TTD devices. Remote
control TV's,video breakfast, check-out, and message system. Computer cabled
rooms available. Spectravision television entertainment, valet, and laundry
also available. Bathtubs, kind size, and double bed rooms available.
Rates (taxes will be added):
Single, Double, Triple, and Quad $40 per night per room
1 Bedroom Suite $110 per night per suite
2 Bedroom Suite $140 per night per suite
Rates are good from December 25, 1994 through January 4, 1995.
Either a deposit (check, recieved 7 days prior), or a credit-card
number (AMEX, VISA, MC, Diner's Club, Discover) is required to
reserve a room.
Deadline for reservations is December 4, 1994.
Check in: 3 pm (early check in 12 noon)
Check out: 12 noon
+There are *no* rooms left for New Year's Eve at the Hyatt. We
+have contracted with the Sheraton Grand for that night at the

Banquet tickets must be purchased in advance - there are only a limited
number available.

**5. CONVENTION REFERENCE COMMITTEES
1) Alumni:
Review the report of the Alumni Committee and consider legislation, policies,
and resolutions related to Alumni.
2) Awards & Appreciations:
Review awards of the Fraternity, make recommendations for changes or new
awards, select the recipient of the Josiah Frank Historian's Award, and
consider and submit resolutions of appreciation and/or recognition.
(See section **12.)
3) Chapter Operations:
Consider legislation, policies, and resolutions related to the chapters and
their operations.
4) Rules & Credentials:
Certify credentials of voting delegates and coordinate legislative
proposals from reference committees.
5) Finance:
Review the report of the Finance Committee and consider legislation, policies,
and resolutions related to Finance.
6) Leadership Development:
Review the report of the Leadership Development Committee and consider
legislation, policies, and resolutions related to Leadership Development.
7) Long-Range Planning:
Review the Fraternity's Long-Range Plan and its implementation, and make
recommendations for changes in the plan.
8) Membership:
Review the report of the Membership & Extension Committee and consider
legislation, policies, and resolutions related to Membership & Extension.
9) National Organization I and II:
Consider legislation, policies, and resolutions related to the structure
of the National Fraternity.
10) Nominations:
Submit to the Convention a slate of candidates for National President,
National Vice-President, and six Members-At-Large to the National Board of
Directors. (see section **7.)
11) Publications / Public Relations:
Consider legislation, policies, and resolutions related to the Public
Relations program and publications of the Fraternity.
12) Scouting Relations:
Review the report of the Scouting Committee and consider legislation,
policies, and resolutions related to Scouting.
13) Service:
Review the report of the Service Committee and consider legislation, policies,
and resolutions related to Service.
14) Time & Place:
Receive bids and recommend locations and dates for the 1996 Convention.

+Voting Delegates are put on the reference committees. Each
+committee has 1 Delegate per region, a chair, and an advisor.
+Recommendations are made by Regional Directors, with the
+final appointments made by the National President.

**6. CHAPTER REPRESENTATION
Each chapter present and in good standing has 2 votes. No proxy votes
are allowed. If only one delegate can be present, that delegate will cast
both votes.
Voting delegates must be officially registered members of Alpha Phi Omega
with the National Office. Only active members and chapter advisors may
represent the chapter as voting delegates.

**14. NATIONAL CONVENTION ALCOHOL POLICY (FROM 1992)
"All brothers of Alpha Phi Omega are responsible for compliance with laws
regarding alcohol consumption; No alcoholic beverages will be served or
consumed at convention functions (i.e. dances, casino nights, talent shows,
regional or sectional meetings, etc.); No alcoholic beverages in open
containers will be transported or consumed in common or public areas of the
hotel (i.e. halls, lobbies, elevators, etc.) excluding bars open to the
public; Violation of local laws of hotel regulations while under the influence
of alcohol will be viewed as a violation of the Fraternity's Convention
alcohol policy."
