Self centered, greedy, selfish, evil, mean, inhumane

are ALL the words that come to mind when I read the comments that
Sourav Mandal and Jhawk made to this list. It deeply disturbs
me that individuals can be so callous when it comes to their fellow man.

The United States is an extremly rich country. And MIT and Harvard
are two big reasons why that is the case. MIT pays a living wage.
If MIT was hurting for cash because of it, why is President Vest
putting ALL of the courses online? Obviously MIT is doing quite
well financially, and I am sure that Harvard can do the same.

Harvard is unique amoung the universities in this area, because it
doesn't pay a living wage. I think that this fact is something to
be ashamed of.

Blue-collar workers are human. They have a right to food, clothes
and shelter. When you are making barely enough to survive
on, when there is money that is just collecting interest and making
the rich richer that makes no sense!

It's inhumane. It's selfish, It shows a lack of concern, respect for
people.

MIT-talk@mit.edu is a place to talk about issues that face MIT students,
and since some individuals think the situation at Harvard is null and
void, let's talk about the MIT student.

Why is it that the PUblic Service Center has such a hard time
getting volunteers(if the average MIT student is so great)?

Why is that MIT students get all up in arms when someone is about
to change their living group, and sit by and do nothing
when the President of the United States makes decisions that
increase the toxins in our air and water?

Why is it that MIT students, the premiere scientists and engineers of
the world, have not publicly denounced the terrible abuses of the planet even
after scientific proof of global warming has been put forward?

Let's talk about the average MIT student who just:

*Sits around to bitch about thier "sad" workload, and how broke they
are when there are other MIT students whose parents collect alumnium
cans just to make ends meet for their child at MIT. Those are the
type of people that you claim don't need a "living wage."

*Have the power to change the world's environment and help
its people and do nothing

Let's talk about the extremely apathetic, selfish, mean MIT student
who thinks Profits are more valuable than people.

It's extremely ironic that ppl have the opinion that these ppl at Harvard
will cause undue burden on the budget. Especially after the number
one thing that ppl like about MIT is the people that they meet.

One thing that I have learned is that although MIT students try to
masquerade as better than Harvard students, they really aren't.

MIT students are just as elitist, selfish, and prissy as a Harvard
Student. The major difference is that they don't dress as well.
