former dean of undergraduate education, mit professor of
literature, and director of the venerable esg (experimental
studies group) TRAVIS MERRITT is recuperating after a slip-
and-tumble at mgh where he was undergoing hip rebuilding ...

presently, he's next door to mgh, at the spaulding rehab, in
the west wing, room 604 ...

nancy and i visited with travis first thing this morning and
found him in excellent spirits! and we suggest his fans
send him get well cards before he gets so busy again ...
