This undated, split image shows former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford
and former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner.APWASHINGTON House Democrats campaign
arm ripped Republicans Thursday for pulling support from scandal-tinted
former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford despite having seen a parade
of their own members flame out over high-profile controversies. On Wednesday,
the National Republican Congressional Committee said it would not continue
funding Sanford in his political comeback bid. The announcement came after
Sanford was accused of trespassing at his ex-wifes home.Mark Sanford has
proven he knows what it takes to win elections, NRCC spokesman Daniel
Scarpinato, said.At this time, the NRCC will not be engaged in this
special election.Sanford is running in a special election in South Carolinas
1st District congressional race. Its a position he held from 1995 to
2001.Democrats were quick to pile on the new political turmoil surrounding
the Sanfords. On Thursday, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spokesman
Jesse Ferguson called out the NRCC for pulling their support from Sanford. The
NRCC has set a new standard for themselves they pull their
support for Republicans in Republican seats because of scandals and controversy
surrounding them, Ferguson said in a statement. Lots of other House Republicans
have to be worried that theyre next on the NRCC's black list
as scandals and controversies mount against them too.He went on to lis
Law enforcement officials are scouring all travel records and electronic
traffic connected to the two suspects in the Boston bombing, and have
so far discovered that the older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev made a prolonged
trip to Russia in early 2012.Officials are searching for clues as they
try to determine whether one or both of the brothers had foreign
training, or were directed by a foreign terrorist organization.Tamerlan
Tsarnaev was killed in a shoot-out with police overnight, while a massive
manhunt is underway in the Boston area for his younger brother Dzhokhar
Tsarnaev.Multiple sources confirmed Tamerlan went to Russia for a prolonged
period last year. It's unclear what he did there, but Fox News
is told that the bombmaker who made the Boston devices would need
practice to build a device with a viable detonator.A senior Capitol Hill
source, who has been briefed by the National Counterterrorism Center on
the manhunt, told Fox News the FBI is tracking passports, airline tickets
and a lot of other data.Fox News is also told that all
electronic traffic associated with the radical Muslims is now being "combed,"
including the YouTube sites attributed to the suspects which included radical
Islamist videos and propaganda.Investigators are working to verify whether
the sites and postings associated with the brothers were in fact theirs.
Fox News was told "nothing is being taken for granted" in terms
of authenticity.While no final determina

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">, does aim to invest billions in border security -- both for
a security and fencing plan. In a bid to ease conservative concerns,
the bill establishes a set of "triggers" that would have to be
met before illegal immigrants currently in the country can apply for a
green card. Those triggers include steps for the Department of Homeland Security
to launch a new border security and fencing plan, and achieve high
levels of apprehension along high-risk areas on the Mexican border. But Crane
said the Senate legislation should be held until several major issues are
addressed -- including what he described as "directives" that release "dangerous
criminal aliens" back into the community and the Obama administration's
"dangerous abuse" of prosecutorial discretion. The administration has allowed
"prosecutorial discretion" to let the government focus on deporting high-risk
illegal immigrants. Officials have said criminal aliens are generally not
being released, and that only low-priority individuals are given a reprieve.
The administration also issued a directive allowing some illegal immigrants
who came to the U.S. as children to stay.Critics, though, warn that
legalizing the millions of illegal immigrants already in the country without
establishing a strict system of interior enforcement will allow the problem
to fester all over again.Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., who has been one
of the Senate's biggest critics of the immigration bill, echoed Crane's

The Internal Revenue Service says it will close all public offices for
five days over the next five months because of automatic spending cuts. The
cuts went into effect when Congress and President Obama couldn't agree on
a budget deal. Taxpayer assistance centers and toll-free phone lines will
be shut down on May 24, June 14, July 5, July 22
and Aug. 30. Most IRS employees will be furloughed those days.Acting IRS
Commissioner Steven Miller told workers in an email that offices may have
to be closed an additional two days in August or September, as
the agency looks for more ways to save money. The furlough days were
postponed until after tax season so they would not delay refunds.
