This is current information regarding the ongoing issues with the
traffic light at the intersection of Mass Ave. and Vassar St.
I have been putting pressure on Cambridge officials to address the issue
with all due haste and will continue to do so.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, if you
witness an accident or incident at the intersection, please first
contact the MIT Police but also try to let me know about it so that I
can inform the appropriate Cambridge authorities when I contact them.

I will also continue to provide information regarding the ongoing Mass
Ave. Construction delays as work resumes in the Spring.

However, given that the current equipment is older, it is likely that there could be other problems with the signal before permanent repairs are made. In that case, Jeff encourages anyone who notices a problem to contact him directly at (617) 349-4715 or jparenti@cambridgema.gov. If for some reason he is not in, the main Traffic phone number is (617) 349-4700, and the call can be directed to a covering staff member. If a major safety concern arises at night or over the weekend, it is definitely appropriate to notify the police.
