of the South an organization labeled as a white supremacist hate
group by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2000.On its web site,
current League of the South president Michael Hill says the groups ultimate
goal is a free and independent Southern republic and advocates confederate
states breaking free from the rest of the country. While Hunter defended
the organizations reputation in the Free Beacon interview he admitted it
was a fairly radical group.Since being hired by Paul, Hunter has made
multiple media appearances pushing his bosss agenda. He has appeared on
Fox Business Network multiple times since 2011. FBN and FoxNews.com are

The six female jurors in the high-profile murder trial of George Zimmerman
have just three verdict options once they receive the case: guilty of
second-degree murder, guilty of manslaughter or not guilty.Zimmerman, 29,
has pleaded not guilty to second-murder in the death of Trayvon Martin
on Feb. 26, 2012. The neighborhood watch volunteer claims he fired his
Kel Tech 9mm in self-defense after Martin punched him and began slamming
his head into the pavement. Prosecutors have disputed that account, portraying
Zimmerman as the aggressor and someone who repeatedly lied about the confrontation.Judge
Debra Nelson ruled Thursday to also allow jurors to consider manslaughter
in the case despite objections by Zimmermans attorneys.Zimmerman attorney
Don West had argued an all-or-nothing strategy, saying the only charge that
should be put before the jury is second-degree murder."The state has charged
him with second-degree murder, West said. They should be required to prove
it. If they had wanted to charge him with manslaughter ... they
could do that."To win a second-degree murder conviction, prosecutors must
prove Zimmerman showed ill will, hatred or spite. Its not necessary, however,
for prosecutors to prove Zimmerman had an intent to cause Martins death. To
get a manslaughter conviction, prosecutors must show only that Zimmerman
killed without lawful justification. Under Florida's laws related to gun
crimes, a manslaughter conviction could carry a

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">June 22, 2013: Gophers line the city sidewalks in Calgary, Alberta.ReutersA
total of 650,000 civilian employees are now being furloughed at U.S. military
bases in response to sequester cuts -- but the Department of Defense
is still spending millions to protect fuzzy critters.Joint Base Lewis-McChord
(JBLM) in Washington state just received a $3.5 million department grant
to purchase land around the base in an effort to protect the
Mazama pocket gopher, a species that has not even been listed as
endangered or threatened. The expense is not sitting well with furloughed
workers."That really makes me mad that they would do that," said Matt
Hines, one of 10,000 civilian employees forced to take a 20 percent
pay cut. "I'm all for saving animals, but at what cost?"Under REPI
(Readiness and Environmental Protection Initiative), the Department of Defense
and other federal agencies have spent $397 million to protect 264,000 acres
around bases since 2003.Sarah Hamman, from the Center for National Lands
Management, has been tracking the Mazama pocket gopher in the prairie land
around JBLM and says the military's involvement has been critical."The Department
of Defense is a really important partner in this process in terms
of providing the funding and providing the land for these species," Hamman
said.In addition to the Mazama pocket gopher, environmentalists say the
purchase of 2,600 acres of prairie land around JBLM will also help
Taylor's checkers
have criticized the requirement on businesses as a "job
killer."Originally, that requirement was supposed to take effect next Jan.
1. Business groups complained since the law passed that the provision was
too complicated. But such complaints until now seemed to be going unheeded. In
February, Universal Studios Orlando announced it would drop medical coverage
for part-time workers starting in 2014, due to a provision in the
federal health care overhaul that would restrict annual limits on insurance
policies.Under the health care law, those without employer-sponsored coverage
will still be required to purchase insurance -- but would also receive
subsidies if they can't afford it.Click here for more from The Buffalo
