Undated: A Facebook graphic, by the group Credo Action, asking Facebook
founder Mark Zuckerberg to stop supporting ads backing the Keystone XL Pipeline.CREDOFILE:
April 4, 2013: Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg during a company press event
in Menlo Park, Calif.REUTERSFacebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is facing a
backlash from the left over ads that support drilling in Alaska and
the Canada-to-Texas Keystone pipeline, as the young billionaire wades ever-deeper
into charged political debates. The daisy chain that connects Zuckerberg
with the drilling ads starts with FWD.US, the bipartisan group Zuckerberg
co-founded for the purpose of supporting immigration legislation. That organization
gave money to a conservative group, Americans for a Conservative Direction,
that aired a TV ad supporting South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.
It also gave to a group that put up an ad backing
drilling in Alaska.Graham is among the eight senators who crafted the bipartisan
immigration legislation now being debated on Capitol Hill. However, Graham
appears in the ad criticizing President Obama for not approving the Keystone
pipeline, which supporters say will help the United Sates achieve energy
independence and critics say will be an environmental hazard. The president
says Im for all of the above when it comes to energy,
Graham says in the 60-second spot. Well, those are words coming out
of his mouth. They dont come from his heart. No Keystone pipeli
particularly on border security, could
help Obama sell the immigration overhaul in the U.S., particularly to wary
Republicans. GOP lawmakers have long insisted the U.S. must focus its efforts
on securing the border before addressing the legal status of the more
than 11 million immigrants in the country illegally. The immigration bill
being debated in the Senate would strengthen border security, allow tens
of thousands of new high- and low-skilled workers into the country, require
all employers to check their workers' legal status and provide an eventual
path to citizenship for most of the immigrants in the U.S. illegally.More
than half of the immigrants in the U.S. illegally are from Mexico,
according to the Pew Research Center.Following a speech Friday to Mexican
entrepreneurs, Obama will travel to Costa Rica, his first visit as president
to the Central American nation. In addition to meetings with Costa Rican
President Laura Chincilla, Obama will attend a gathering of leaders from
the Central American Integration system. The regional network also includes
the leaders of Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. On
Saturday, Obama will attend a business conference aimed at fostering economic
cooperation between the U.S. and Central American nations. The president
is due back in Washington Saturday night.

order for them to share sensitive details with an attorney - Issa
had sought specifics on this process from the administration last month. The
letters offered some details on that process, though attorney Victoria Toensing
questioned why it took so long for the departments to produce those
letters in the first place."They're stonewalling," she told Fox News on
Wednesday.Toensing, who is representing one of the State Department employees
looking to come forward, earlier told Fox News that her client and
others were threatened."I'm not talking generally, I'm talking specifically
about Benghazi - that people have been threatened," Toensing said in an
interview Monday. "And not just the State Department. People have been threatened
at the CIA."Three Republican senators on Wednesday also renewed a request
for the administration to provide the names of the Benghazi survivors to
Congress in order for lawmakers to conduct interviews."This information
will allow Congress to meet its oversight obligations and will help ensure
our government is taking the proper steps to protect American lives abroad
and prevent future terrorist attacks," they wrote. The letter to President
Obama was signed by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz.; Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H.; and
Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
ca to Mozambique, including the first 12 rhinos to roam in Mozambique
in a century.In 2006, South Africa removed some 50 kilometers (30 miles)
of fence between Kruger and Limpopo National Park. Soto said the entire
200 kilometers (125 miles) of fence was not removed because Mozambique still
is working to resettle some 6,000 people living in the park.A second
phase was to include two other Mozambican parks, allowing the transfrontier
park to extend over 100,000 square kilometers (39,000 sq. miles) that would
make it "the world's largest animal kingdom," according to the South African
Peace Parks Foundation. Those plans now are in danger, as is the Great
Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Knight said South African officials are even
discussing rebuilding their fence with Mozambique.South African officials
say their country has lost 273 rhinos to poachers so far this
year. They say most have been killed by Mozambicans who cross into
Kruger Park. Poachers killed 668 rhinos in South Africa last year. The slaughter
continues with the number of deaths increasing even though South Africa
has declared war on rhino poachers and for two years has deployed
soldiers and police in Kruger, a vast park which is the size
of Israel.Soto said Mozambique's government has been working since 2009
on a comprehensive reform of environmental laws involving consultations
with all stakeholders. He said he expects the draft legislation to be
presented to parliament soon. I
