Uninstalling Kerberos

On several of our Unix boxes we are running I believe a 4.X version of
Kerberos. This was installed by a former employee for reasons beyond many
of us now since the systems were only interally accessible and there was no
real need to install it. We've had a ton of problems with Kerberos on this
system ranging from no reminders that your password will expire to not being
able to login and having to restart the services on the main kerberos
server. We would very much like to just remove kerberos on these systems
and go back to the standard login. Additionally, we can't ftp to some of
these machines running Wu-ftp with kerberos on them. I've not been able to
find any info on how to correctly remove kerberos and revert back to normal
login/authentication methods. I don't want to go at this blindly since
that's really asking for trouble. Any info that can be passed along would
be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill
