I was told verbally by someone at Sun (Completely unofficial and maybe
incorrect) that the Kerberos authentication flavour was just like
the DES Authentication flavour (See RFC1057, sec. 9.3) except that the
fullname was actually a Kerberos ticket.
A wild guess would be that the server authenticates the ticket, generates
server credentials for it and then caches them, returning a nickname for
the cached entry. Anyone know if this is close to correct?
