Yes, i've tried it, but it doesnt use pam, so it doesnt really solve the 
problem. You don't get the same environment as the default su command, nor 
does it work (because it's not pam aware) with privileges in aix 6.

have u tried ksu command that comes with AIX in IBM's kerberos offering?
