I'm thinking about proposing a Usenet newsgroup for discussion of the
GSS-API. However, before writing up such a proposal, I'd like to get
some idea of whether there is sufficient interest in such a group, and
if so, what form the group should take.
If you think there are other forums where people would be interested in
such a group and therefore would be useful participants in this poll,
please point this out to me and I will send this message to them.
Please don't do it yourself, or the message might end up getting sent
to the same forums multiple times.
Please send me E-mail if you would be interested in a Usenet newsgroup
for discussion of the GSS-API, and answer the following questions:
* Do you think the group should be moderated or unmoderated?
* What to you think the name of the group should be? You can pick one
of these possibilities or suggest something different:
comp.security.gss-api; comp.protocols.gss-api;
comp.security.api.gss-api.
* Do you think it would be useful to have different newsgroups for
different mechanisms, e.g., one for the OSF DCE mechanism, one for the
Kerberos V5 mechanism, etc.?
* If the answer to the last question is yes, then do you think that the
per-mechanism GSS-API groups should be created in a GSS-API group
hierarchy, or in the hierarchies of the technologies to which they're
related. For example, would you prefer
"comp.protocols.kerberos.gss-api" or "comp.security.gss-api.kerberos"?
