Solaris update....

There was some comment about using an explicit path breaks under Solaris.
I have verified (at a minor level) that with suncc - everything is correct.
There was some speculation that a gcc built library would cause problems.
Now, one cause of this is that the soname is not set for a gcc built library.
This may be the problem. Luck for us, the gcc LD supports a -soname flag.
(at least according to the info file). So we may be able to pass the flags
through gcc do DTRT. This might solve the problem that Tom was seeing.
Again - testing will indicate.

I am guessing that the mips-sni-sysv4 shlib support will break as
well... (it looks like it was copied directly from solaris section).
