For the record, I strongly object to the fact that such a
user-significant change was made this close to 1.0 with no public
design discussion and while there was still significant disagreement
among the subset of people that you did talk to about it, and without
sufficient testing.
I recommend that we back out these changes and, if we don't, I
guarantee that we will regret it.
