ref=3A bb/boc/bank/0012 came to our bank to engage in business discussi=
ons with our Private Banking Services Department=2E He informed us that =
he had a financial portfolio of 8=2E375 million United States Dollars=2C=
which he wished to have us turn over (invest) on his behalf=2E =3CBR=3E=
=3CBR=3E=3CBR=3EI was the officer assigned to his case=3B I made numerou=
s suggestions in line with my duties as the de-facto chief operations of=
ficer of the Private Banking Services Department=2C especially given the=
volume of funds he wished to put into our bank=2E We met on numerous oc=
casions prior to any investments being placed=2E I encouraged him to con=
sider various growth funds with prime ratings=2E The favored route in my=
advice to customers is to start by assessing data on 6000 traditional s=
tocks and bond managers and 2000 managers of alternative investments=2E =
Based on my advice=2C we spun the money around various opportunities and=
made attractive margins for our first months of operation=2C the accrue=
d profit and interest stood at this point at over 10 million United Stat=
es Dollars=2C =3CBR=3Ethis margin was not the full potential of the fund=
but he desired low risk guaranteed returns on investments=2E =3CBR=3E=3C=
BR=3E=3CBR=3EIn mid 2004=2C he asked that the money be liquidated becaus=
e he needed to make an urgent investment requiring cash payments in Euro=
pe=2E He directed that I liquidate the funds and had it deposited with a=
firm=2E I informed him that the bank would have to make special arrange=
ments to have this done and in order not to circumvent due process=2C th=
e bank would have to make a 9=2E5 =25 deduction from the funds to cater =
for banking and statutory charges=2E He complained about the charges but=
later came around when I explained to him the complexities of the task =
he was asking of us=2E Cash movement across borders has become especiall=
y strict since the incident of 9/11=2E I contacted my affiliate in and h=
ad the funds available=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3EI undertook all the processes =
and made sure I followed his precise instructions to the letter and had =
the funds deposited in a security consultancy firm=2C the firm is a spec=
ialist private firm that accepts deposits from high net worth individual=
s and blue chip corporations that handle valuable products or undertake =
transactions that need immediate access to cash=2E This small and highly=
private organization is familiar especially to the highly placed and we=
ll-connected organizations=2E In line with instructions=2C the money was=
deposited=2E He told me he wanted the money there in anticipation of hi=
s arrival from Norway later that week=2E This was the last communication=
we had=2C this transpired around 9th October 2004=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=3C=
BR=3EIn January this year=2C we got a call from the security firm inform=
ing us that the inactivity of that particular portfolio=2E This was an a=
stounding position as far as I was concerned=2C given the fact that I ma=
naged the private banking sector I was the only one who knew about the d=
eposit =2C and I could not understand why he had not come forward to cla=
im his =3CBR=3Edeposit=2E I made futile efforts to locate him I immediat=
ely passed the task of locating him to the internal investigations depar=
tment of the bank of china=2E Four days later=2C information started to =
trickle in=2C apparently he was dead=2E A person who suited his descript=
ion was declared dead of a heart attack in Canne=2C South of France=2E W=
e were soon enough able to identify the body and cause of death was conf=
irmed=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=3CBR=3EThe bank immediately launched an invest=
igation into possible surviving next of kin to alert about the situation=
and also to come forward to claim his estate=2E If you are familiar wit=
h private banking affairs=2C those who patronize our services usually pr=
efer anonymity=2C but also some levels of detachment from conventional p=
rocesses=2E In his bio-data form=2C he listed no next of kin=2E In the f=
ield of private banking=2C opening an account with us means no one will =
know of its existence=2C accounts are rarely held under a name=3B deposi=
tors use numbers and codes to make the accounts anonymous=2E This bank a=
lso gives the choice to depositors of having their mail sent to them or =
held at the bank itself=2C ensuring that there are no traces of the acco=

d faith to determine who should have right to claim the estate=2E This i=
nvestigation has for the past months been unfruitful=2E We have scanned =
every continent and used our private investigation affiliate companies t=
o get to the root of the problem=2E The investigation did not ever yield=
any result My official capacity dictates that I am the only party to su=
pervise the investigation and the only party to receive the results of t=
he investigation=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=3CBR=3EThis leaves me as the only p=
erson with the full picture of what the prevailing situation is in relat=
ion to the deposit and the late beneficiary of the deposit=2E According =
to practice=2C the firm will by the end of this financial year broadcast=
a request for statements of claim to BOC=2C failing to receive viable c=
laims they will most probably revert the deposit back to BOC=2E This wil=
l result in the money entering the BOC accounting system and the portfol=
io will be out of my hands and out of the Private Banking Services Depar=
tment=2E This will not happen if I have my way=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=
What I wish to relate to you will smack of unethical practice but I want=
you to understand something=2E It is only an outsider to the banking wo=
rld who finds the internal politics of the banking world aberrational=2E=
The world of private banking especially is fraught with huge rewards fo=
r those who occupy certain offices and oversee certain portfolios=2E You=
should have begun by now to put together the general direction of what =
I propose=2E There is US=24 8=2C375=2C000=2E00 deposited=2C I alone have=
the deposit details and they will release the deposit to no one unless =
I instruct them to do so=2E I alone know of the existence of this deposi=
t for as far as BOC is concerned=2C the transaction with our deceased cu=
stomer concluded when I sent the funds to the firm=2C all outstanding in=
teractions in relation to the file are just customer services and due pr=
ocess=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=3CBR=3EThey are simply awaiting instructions t=
o release the deposit to any party that comes forward=2E This is the sit=
uation=2E This bank has spent great amounts of money trying to track thi=
s man=27s family=3B they have investigated for months and have found no =
family=2E The investigation has come to an end=2E =3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=3CBR=3E=
My proposal=3B=26nbsp=3B I am prepared to place you in a position to giv=
e instruction for the release of the=26nbsp=3B deposit to you as the clo=
sest surviving relation=2E Upon receipt of the deposit=2C I am prepared =
to share the money with you in half=2E That is=3A I will simply nominate=
you as the =3CBR=3Enext of kin and have them release the deposit to you=
=2E We share the proceeds 50/50=2E I would have gone ahead to ask the fu=
nds be released to me=2C but that would have drawn a straight line to me=
and my involvement in claiming the deposit=2E I assure you that I could=
have the deposit released to you within a few days=2E I will simply inf=
orm the bank of the final closing of the file relating to the customer I=
