I was referred to this list by James M Galvin <galvin@commerce.net>
for help with the request for info below:
I am looking for info aon any court cases:
1) filed,
2) pending,
3) decided, or
4) settled out of court, and/or under 'seal' to prevent it being publicized
--
or
5) anecdotal reports in media of breaches of privacy by companies, who did
not use adequate encryption, or privacy safeguards with individuals's
medical or financial data, such as credit card info sent over the Net,
without being encrypted.
Particularly interested in any cases where an individual's credit card info
was disclosed on the Net, without the card's owner's permission (whether
intentionally, or unintentionally)
Would appreciate any help.
TIA
