A story in today's Washington Post describes the discovery of a
massive illegal eavesdropping operation by the Mexican government.
Not only was it used for routine political surveillance, but it is
widely believed that kidnappings, drug trafficking and other crimes
are regularly abetted by corrupt law enforcement officials with access
to wiretaps.

Yet I'm sure the US is still eager to share escrowed keys with the
Mexican government as part of the war on drugs...
