Last Thursday, Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder was asked about the
Commerce Department's admission that U.S. crypto-regulations harm U.S.
companies. Was the administration's position changing? His response:

"Well, I think the administration's position is still consistent,
is consistent with what it has been, which is to find a way to resolve the
issue, taking into account the very real interests that we in law
enforcement have as well as what we want to do in a business sense around
the world. It's a difficult issue to resolve, but it's one that we are
continually trying to work out."

Is the U.S. position going to shift?

No, Holder replied. "I do not believe that the position is about to
shift."
