I was browsing the PGP Web page. If you try to buy "PGP for Personal
Privacy: WIN32 with RSA" -- and I didn't check any other versions --
you're told that the following conditions apply:
1.The product can not be rented, loaned or leased - You are the
sole owner of the product.
2.The customer shall not disclose the results of any benchmark
test to any third party without Network Associates' prior
written approval.
3.The customer will not publish reviews of the product without
prior consent from Network Associates.
The last two are rather amusing...
I also note that the "evaluate/download" copy of what appears to be the
same product is rather more expensive than the hardcopy, a curious
reversal -- the online version costs $59; the CD-ROM version costs $39
plus $6.95 for shipping. (In fairness, I should note that the order
page doesn't seem to mention what version the latter is -- might it
be 5.0?)
