In the spirit of Counterpane's generous encouragement of research into
Twofish, I'm pleased to announce a somewhat less rewarding bounty upon
DEAL. While less enjoyable on the whole than the already outstanding
offer of vintage champagne for attacks on Hasty Pudding, and clearly
less of an incentive than Counterpane's $10,000.00 US offer for Twofish,
this contest is really just about the principle of things.
Accordingly, I offer the princely sum of $0.02 (CDN) to anyone who can
prove an new attack on DEAL better than that claimed in the design
documents. On that measure Stephan Lucks has already won, and if he
would send me his mailing address I'll gladly send him his prize.
