The IEEE's new online Internet Computing magazine has a great interview
with George Gilder - http://www.computer.org/internet Well worth reading
for his insights into the future of the Internet and the rise of high
bandwidth technologies. Fascinating stuff.
Gilder touches on crypto policy and says that he thinks the US government
will wake up and realize that the best crypto shouldn't all be foreign.

p.s. a clerk at Barnes & Noble said that a new edition of Vernor Vinge's
out of print book _True Names_ will be coming out 'maybe in few months'.
