It appears Canada might be a breeding ground for freaking odd
crypto-systems (after US). This time, Control Communications Systems
(http://www.concomsys.com/)

From: <http://www.concomsys.com/frame1.htm>:
...
WHISPER
High level security - a morphing encryption rate of at least 1 kilobyte

VANGUARD
Absolute security - a morphing encryption rate of at least 20 kilobytes

 Primary Features:

Developed in ANSI Standard Code (Ensuring cross-platform ability).
Creates Key Discs (Public keys can also be used if desired).
  Morphing encryption rate.
Total decryption control (Decryption can only be performed with key disc
  created at time of encryption).
Multi-threaded real time status indicator for current processes.
Open design to allow for expansion and cross-platform compatibility.
Base .exe can be made into a .dll or .lib to serve as a base for other
applications which require similar levels of security.
Absolutely seamless (Leaves no traceable files or temp files).
Maintains file size to the original.
Large graphic files process in only seconds.
Fully compatible with firewalls or email (Intra or Internet services).

FAST, COMPACT AND ABSOLUTELY SECURE !.

WHISPER will protect all your digital data from conventional assault.

VANGUARD will protect your data from the most sophisticated decryption
systems that exist now or are likely to exist for years to come!

Using public keys does not use or require a key disc and should
therefore be considered LESS secure. This is simply a quick method of
securing only minimal confidentiality. If you need complete security,
do not use the public key method.

----------------------

This just seems, ah, funny. First, Jaws Technology which still has yet to
provide little evidence that they are legit. Now these people strike me as
interesting. "Morphing encryption rates"? "Key Discs"? Saying that
public keys are less secure. The 'laws of Canada and the Canadian Criminal
Code' at the bottom of their pages is also interesting. Cryptography is
not regulated domestically in Canada, I don't think cryptography or
"information security" (name used in Export Control List) is even
mentioned in the Criminal Code.

Does anyone have more details on this company? I find it suspect, and I
question the quality of this "morphing encryption."
