Obviously "no one" includes you, because that is *not* what he said. He
said that:
- NSA monitor traffic at 9 IXPs;
- Internet traffic on routes that you wouldn't expect (e.g. UK to
Greece) go through the USA.
The latter is an artifact of his UK ISP's peering policies, and a
different ISP might well produce different results.

I believe (but I am not a lawyer) that the Interception of
Communications Act is later than, and so overrides, whatever document
that quote comes from. I am willing to be shown otherwise using
appropriate citations.

Please remember that the UK is not the USA, and this does not have the
same significance that it would there.

John represents "NCH Action for Children" at the IWF Policy Board. He
and I have crossed arguments many times.

I am disappointed with Diffie. John Abbott (NCIS) stated, in effect:
(1) key escrow is needed, in particular, to catch the large scale high
profile international drug dealers, terrorists, and so forth;
(2) of course the intelligent criminal won't escrow their key with the
police, but the thick ones will.
Any LSHPIDD etc. who managed to get that far isn't going to fit in
category 2.
