What is the confusion ? SSL is channel encryption, SET is application
encryption. Two different things serving two different purposes.

I like SSL (particularly v3 which authenticates both ends) for taking my
business off a party line. SET OTOH means that I do not have to
give the web site I am doing business with my credit card numbers unless
MC/BoA/AmEx decides they may have it.

That just leaves the volume encryption which is my responsibility.

					Warmly,
						Padgett
