Jus t anote to any chapters outside of Oklahoma who want to be of help
in the relief effort. I'd recommend contacting your local branches
of the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or other relief group. They should
be in touch with their organizations national efforts and will
be able to tell you what services you can provide. I do know
that yesterday, they were sending many volunteers home because so many
came out to help, they were overwhelmed by help. As of yesterday,
there were requests for construction tools, hard hats, plywood,
bottled water, and other emergency items. Our chapter at the University
of Oklahoma, is working with the Salvation Army. We are trying
to get a collection site set up for supplies for sometime this
weekend. I beleive the petitioning group at Oklahoma State is
also working with relief groups up there on similar endeavours.
