Sometimes? This may not be true in your case but I am a bit dismayed
at how liberally it seems that the chapter DSK is given out. If this
is a biased viewpoint then I apologize in advance, for I don't really
know what it's like to actually be a part of giving a DSK. I only met
one brother from my undergraduate chapter who had received a chapter
DSK in the four years I was involved there, Kappa at Carnegie Mellon
University. (I was a pledge at the time too so my memory of these
events are a bit hazy. :-)
I'm just wondering, how many DSK's do y'all give on a semesterly
basis? My personal opinion is that it should be limited for something
that's really incredibly outstanding, not just being an active brother
for four years. (Which really isn't that hard, hey, I did it. :) Like
starting a new chapter or two, chairing a major convention (like a
nationals or a big regionals), etc.
Just my few pennies,
-Jeff
