On the note of summer conferences, I feel that having conferences during
the Christmas is beneficial for students for two reasons. First, more
students, generally, are out of class during the winter break than summer
since many people attend summer school. Second, many hotels give discounts
for conventions during this time since they have plenty of availbility.
Of course, the main reason I have heard that people don't attend is because
of lack of money, and this will occur during any time of the year, unless
you get lots of money for Christmas!
Now to make a comment about something I saw on here earlier about this topic.
This is the quote I read. "Travel and weather are a potential mess in the
winter months. ...If someone gets killed trying to drive 20 hours through
a blizzard, don't come crying to me." Now I realize that some people feel
strong about certain issues in the Fraternity, but please don't imply that
you have no respect for the lives of your brothers, or maybe you should ask
yourself if you should be a brother in the first place. Please be careful
about what you say on here; I could understand why many people might take
offense to this quote.
