I'd like to echo most of what has been said,
esp by Brother Sanders, and add one thing.
The goals of this organization are twofold.
First, to put forth a positive standard of manhood.
Second, to come up with peaceful means to solve
conflicts between nations.
Given those two things, it seems to me that the
issue is relatively black and white. A Brother is
someone who sets a positive role model to the end
of bringing peace. Hate in any form cannot be a
party to this standard. Homophobia breads hate
and insults.
To put it another way, how are we supposed to solve
the problems of the nations of the world, if we can't
look at someone who is doing something very positive with
his life (as I presume we all concider APO to be) and
not overlook some simple difference that doesn't matter
outside of the bedroom?
People can all religious issues into this, and both
sides can duke that out, but how is this really
different from the war mongering going on in
the world, which we are supposed to try to stamp out?
Granted it's on a smaller scale, but hey, we have
to start someplace!
Hope this helps
