Hi everyone! In response to the question about committees at Nationals,
the main thing you need to do is let your Section Chairman and Regional
Director know you are interested. The Regional Directors are responsible
for suggesting appointments from their region. Keep in mind that this
is an interesting provess to say the least...I picked three committees
and was placed on a different one from those (Credentials & Rules..ack!).
Good committee if you love all-niters!
About NSD, I have made this suggestion to a few people, and it went over
well, so here it goes. Maybe the whole concept needs an overhaul. I think
the main problem is many chapters are unable to do a project on the actual
'day' so they don't do one. Perhaps we should change the 'day' to a 'month'
......several advantages to this: 1) In 23 years of existance, I have never
seen a football schedule with home games on every week of November;
2) In stead of having one day to choose from, now you would have 30;
and 3) You could do a project designed to last more than one day.
I feel this would give chapters the flexibility to plan and carry out
projects, thereby increasing the participation. Besides, 'National Service
Month' kinda has a nice ring to it. =)
Let me know what you think!
In LFS,
Shawn =)
