Just a few points on the ability to limit access APO-L.
1) Email is basically a non-secure setup anyway, which is why even if we
restricted APO-L to only those who have been through the initiation
ceremony, we still wouldn't discuss rituals on it.
2) Verificiation of brotherhood can be done a couple of ways
a) send name and brotherhood number to the National office and wait until
the National Office gets back to the list owner. (Presumeing that the
national convention tells the national office to do so)
b) Ask about specific meanings from the brotherhood ritual.
3) Verification of pledging: Very difficult, some chapters don't get
their pledges list to the National Office until almost when they
inititate (or later)
4) There are APO-Phil brothers who subscribe to APO-L, verificiation
through their national office is probably an order of magnitude tougher
than APO-USA.
5) I have no idea why some people think that the list getting archived
would increate the level of spamming.
6) Basically I don't think that we should make any effort to limit those
who have access to APO-L, but OTOH, I'm not wild about the archiving either.
