On Archiving, I just wanted to say, it makes sense.  Eventually people
are going to graduate and topics are going to reappear.  This makes it a
way for someone ten years from now look to see what arguements were
presented.  You are also keeping part of history.  Eventually maybe
because of a discussion was archived a problem is solved, some is helped
on a term paper, etc..  There are many benefits of archiving I believe.
Someone has already pointed out that any one can read this now so what's
the big deal if any one reads the archives?
